Project Management Institute Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)

Business Analysis focuses on the scope and definition of the product or service that a project is undertaken to deliver. PMI’s surveys have shown that 39% of failed projects are due to inaccurate definitions of the product. This underscores the importance of the Business Analysis effort in Project Management. Whether a person is a full-time dedicated Business Analyst or fulfilling a hybrid BA / PM role, or the person is a full-time Project Manager supervising one or more business analysts working on the project, the person must be fully conversant with the work and deliverables of Business Analysis.

Participants in this course will learn what they need to pass the Project Management Institute Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA®) exam, PMI’s fastest growing certification. They will also refine their understanding of BA best practices as captured in the PMI business analysis-related standards. PMI-PBA® candidates will learn the full repertoire of BA techniques and elevate their understanding of their own experience as seen through the lens of industry best practices.

Intended Audience: This course and certification are intended for professionals who fulfill the role and do the work of business analysis and for persons who fulfill a hybrid role of Project Manager/Business Analyst or for those who aspire to be and grow in these professions. They will find this course and certification invaluable.

Course Details: This is a 4-day course, 9:30am to 7:00pm. Delivery is via online-live instruction (synchronous) with classmates in a Zoom-environment. Students are awarded 35 PDU’s which are required to qualify to sit for the PMI-PBA certification examination. Please see the chart below of the PMI's requirements for taking the exam.

Course Prerequisites: The Project Management Institute requires a certain amount of education, training and experience which requires documentation on the application prior to taking the exam. Use the chart below to determine your eligibility to take the exam. Note: There is no time limit between taking the course and taking the exam. PDU's earned in this class do not 'expire'.
