IV Certification Training for LPN, August 3, 8am-1pm, CMU Health Sciences Building, room HS143

This course will provide participants with training and certification in the techniques required to start an IV infusion as well as withdrawal of blood for testing. Participants will receive hands-on-practice with our IV simulation manikins. The course provides information on fluid and electrolyte balance, puncture techniques, infection control, central line use, assessment management, care of the site, venous, arterial anatomy and physiology and Universal Precautions. Medication math formulas and dosage calculations discussed. Must be LPN without IV certification to participate.
