The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) Level I Certification is recognized as an IDA AccreditationPlus program. It is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement WRS Steps 1–6 with students who are reading and spelling below grade level, as well as those diagnosed with a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia. Participants are eligible to receive up to 90 PA Act 48 hours upon successful completion.

July 28-30, 2026 The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) Advanced Strategies for MSL Group Instruction Course is an intensive three-day virtual workshop that provides strategies to improve all aspects of WRS group instruction through hands-on practice and discussion, and is a prerequisite for the WRS Group Mastery Practicum. Participants are eligible to receive up to 15 PA Act 48 hours upon successful completion.
In the Wilson Reading System® (WRS) Steps 7–12 Practicum, participants focus on advanced word study and application of reading and writing skills with progressively more challenging levels of text. The practicum requires successful delivery of a minimum of 50 lessons with an approved student, and submission of at least three video-recorded lessons for observation and feedback. Participants are eligible to receive up to 90 PA Act 48 hours upon successful completion.

WRS Level I or Level II Certification Extension Request Participants who need additional time to complete the WRS Level I or Level II Practicum may request an extension. A $50 fee is required to cover administrative processing and continued access to practicum oversight.

August 31, 2026 This practicum requires successful delivery of a minimum of 50 lessons with an approved group of three to four students reaching WRS Substep 3.1 or higher, and submission of at least three video recorded lessons for observation and feedback. Participants are eligible to receive up to 90 PA Act 48 hours upon successful completion. Individuals have 15 months from the date of enrollment to complete all coursework.
