The Romeo D. Pallante Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in 2011 to honor the memory of Romeo D. Pallante.

The late Romeo D. Pallante was a larger-than-life personage whose influence over the musical community was profound and lasting. Conductor, composer/arranger, educator, adjudicator, jazz saxophonist – Ro’s interests and talents, both musical and non-musical, were far-reaching.

This scholarship was created to memorialize Romeo Pallante and to provide financial assistance to deserving Lakeland Community College students involved in and aspiring to continue involvement in singing/chorus.

This need-based scholarship is awarded to full-time or part-time students of Lakeland Community College who maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 after their first semester of enrollment and may be enrolled in any academic area or have career aspirations in any area although preference will be given to students showing an aptitude and interest in Lakeland's choral music ensembles with willingness to be involved (subject to audition) for a period of at least one semester. Consideration may also be given to students enrolled in music classes/private lessons or instrumental ensembles.
