Painting with Soil

Instructed by Sandra Amoabeng

This course explores the ancient and versatile art of painting with earth pigments—natural colors derived from soil and minerals. Students will delve into the historical significance and ecological relevance of these materials while learning to responsibly source, process, and transform them into viable paints. Through fun, hands-on experimentation, the course introduces a range of traditional and contemporary techniques. By the end, students will create unique artworks that reflect a deep connection to the land and its natural resources.
