How can you protect yourself, the students, school volunteers, and other employees from bloodborne pathogens? The answer to this question is the primary purpose of this course. By the end of this module, you will be able to:

1. Identify bloodborne pathogen risks in the school environment.
2. Describe the common bloodborne diseases.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of self-protection strategies and the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect against the transmission of bloodborne pathogens.
4. Explain appropriate cleaning and disinfection procedures after exposure to potential bloodborne pathogens.
5. Understand and comply with bloodborne exposure reporting recommendations and requirements.
