Jerry and Sharon Smith support Dean’s Future Scholars

University of Nevada, Reno Foundation Trustee Jerry Smith ’03 (honorary degree) and his late wife Sharon established the Gerald and Sharon Smith Dean’s Future Scholars Scholarship in 2017. The Dean’s Future Scholars program supports low-income, first-generation students from Washoe County School District each year beginning in the sixth grade and continuing until they graduate and enroll in college. Nearly 1,300 students have participated in the program. Dedicated University supporters, Jerry and Sharon Smith are recognized as Silver Benefactors in the University’s Honor Court.
