The mission of the Shocker Support Locker is to alleviate food insecurity on campus by providing temporary food assistance to Shockers in need.
According to the US Department of Agriculture food insecurity among college students is 1.5-4 times higher than the national average. More than 40% of the Wichita State students surveyed by SGA have had to skip a meal because they could not afford to eat while at Wichita State. The Shocker Resource Locker is working to alleviate the food insecurity on our campus.
