UConn CLEAR’s Land Use Academy is holding an in-person training on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at UConn's Middlesex County Extension Center located at 1066 Saybrook Road, Haddam, CT, 06438. A virtual option is also available.

This half day workshop will explore both the science of wetlands and the regulation of development related to wetlands in CT. Josh Wilson, Senior Ecologist at Biohabitats and Chair of the East Hampton Inland Wetlands Watercourse Agency, will discuss the scientific and ecological issues that Wetland Commissioners should know. Mike Zizka, a renowned Land Use attorney, scientist, and author of “What’s Legally Required,” will cover the dos and don’ts and ins and outs of local wetland regulation.

This training is for inland wetland commissioners or any other land use commissioners interested in learning more about wetlands and efforts to protect them during the development process.

This training may be eligible for three (3.0) commissioner training hours as per CGS Sec. 8-4c. (Fair and Affordable Housing hour will NOT be covered).
