Have you ever watched a plant grow from a seed into a flower and back into seeds? It is an amazing thing to witness and we want you to see it first-hand! Join us for this Friday Fun Day to learn about the parts of a plant, what plants need to grow, and how to take care of them. You will get your very own plant to take home and grow, too. We will also play and look for plants growing in the Children’s Garden during the program. This program is designed for children ages 3, 4, and 5, but all children are welcome. Parents or guardians must be present with the participants during the program.

* This program is scheduled to be in person. All attendees will be expected to follow University of Tennessee COVID-19 guidelines which include wearing face mask and completing a visitor health screening form each day. The form may be completed online at (Visitor Screen form) or may be completed on paper upon arrival at the gardens. Participants will not be allowed to participate in the program if they have a fever, show signs of being ill, or do not have a completed screening form that enables them to be on campus. Please note that both the participant and the adult with the participant must complete the screening form and are subject to the same conditions of participation. Classes may be moved to a virtual format due to COVID-19 restrictions. In the event of classes going virtual, participants will be given a garden kit with garden materials to complete the class at home. Publicity Release:
Upon enrolling in a UT Gardens program, the parent/guardian authorizes the University of Tennessee to use photographs, quotes, or video footage from the camp program for the purpose of marketing. In the event that you do NOT want images of your child publicized, you MUST provide written notice to our Education Director prior to the start of camp. These requests must be made via email to

University of Tennessee Gardens, Knoxville Cancellation & Refund Policy:
Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. A full refund will be made in the event the UT Gardens cancels a class.

Individual Cancellations:
If you find you cannot attend the class or lecture you’ve registered for, please email and let us know. A full refund of the registration will be issued for cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the event. A 50% refund will be issued 15 days prior to the event. No refunds will be made for cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the event.

If you are unable to attend a program due to an unforeseen issue, you may transfer the class fee to another class. This class transfer must be redeemed within 6 months of your original class registration. If the class you transfer your fee to is greater than your original registration fee, you will need to pay the difference. If the class you wish to transfer the fee to is less than your original fee you will not be reimbursed the difference. In order to transfer the registration fee, you must email within 24 hours of the class starting time.
