DOT Training for Highway Shippers and Transporters of Radiopharmaceuticals
This course is required of all employees who may enter controlled areas and might encounter radiation safety postings, radiation producing devices, or radioactive materials.
NEO developed a general DOT training program as outlined in CFR Title 49. The goal of this program is to provide web-based training in the required DOT training to those working with or around radioactive materials. The online availability of this program will be essentially seamless, cover the required material, provide record keeping, and be inexpensive.
The DOT requires that any employee involved in the preparation of packages of hazardous (radioactive) material and/or the transport and delivery of hazmat packages and/or responsible for the sate transport of hazmat packages receive specific training. The training must be within the first 90 days of employment and refreshed every three years.
Training requirements include:
:: General awareness/familiarization of radioactive material
:: Function-specific training (transport/delivery and handlers)
:: General safety training for radioactive materials
:: Security awareness training
DOT & IATA Training for Air Shippers of Radioactive Material, Type A Packages
This course is supplemental to DOT training specific training areas and the function-specific training needed to prepare packages and documentation for ground transport of radioactive materials. It is the user's responsibility to insure that all other DOT training requirements have been met as outlined in the Prerequisites listed below.
Prerequisites:
Satisfactory completed appropriate DOT training in the areas of:
General awareness and familiarization with radioactive materials,
General safety considerations for radioactive materials,
Security awareness training,
DOT Training for Highway Shippers of Radioactive Materials
Goal:
The goal of this program is to provide required training specific to the packaging, labeling and proper documentation of packages containing radioactive materials with the proper shipping name of Radioactive Material, Type A Package to be offered for transport by domestic air carriers.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the appropriate modules, the participant will be able to:
1. Discuss the regulatory agencies responsible for US air transport of radioactive materials,
2. Discuss the input of advisory groups who influence the regulations of air transport of dangerous goods,
3. Explain the requirements for appropriate packaging and labeling of packages offered for domestic air transport,
4. Complete a Dangerous Goods Airbill for Radioactive Material, Type A Package.

Certificates
Final Quiz, Course Evaluation and Certificate of Completions are reset at the beginning of the year. You will only be able to access your certificate in the year it was completed. Afterwards, a $5 fee will be accessed for a duplicate copy.
Enrollment Duration
You will be enrolled in the course for 1 year and will then be automatically dis-enrolled.
