April 18, 2020 DIY Rain Barrel Class (VIRTUAL)
This program covers the basics and benefits of rainwater harvesting and the effects stormwater has on the environment. Participants will learn how to collect and utilize rainwater at home and have the opportunity to construct their very own 55 gallon rain barrel. Rain barrels are recycled food-grade containers and are roughly 24" wide by 36" tall.

We hope you are all well and safe! Thank you so much for ordering a rain barrel for the “Saving FROM a Rainy Day: DIY Rain Barrel” class, hosted by the City of Dallas.* While we are disappointed we cannot hold this class in person on April 18, 2020, we have come up with a solution for you to still learn all about rainwater harvesting and get your rain barrel(s). Please read thoroughly for all the updates:
This class will be LIVE on our Facebook page: AgriLife Water University on Saturday, April 18th at 9:00am. Our staff horticulturalists and water resource professionals will be online taking and answering your questions. Don’t worry if you cannot watch it live, as we will be posting it our Water University website and our Water University YouTube page for you to watch later or for your review.
Due to the current shelter in place situation, we are moving the rain barrel pickup date to Saturday, May 2nd from 8:00am to 12:00noon at our Texas A&M AgriLife Dallas Center, 17360 Coit Road, Dallas, Texas 75252. Please make sure your vehicle is large enough to hold the rain barrels. Rain barrels are recycled food-grade containers and are roughly 24" wide by 36" tall. Rain Barrels will be located in the parking spaces around our campus so that you can load them into your vehicle contact free. To make this even better, your rain barrels will already be completed for you! That’s right, all the components will be attached so you’re ready to install when you get home!
