NEW RELEASE!
Fredonia State University of New York and Reed Library are pleased to announce the release of The Raschèr Reader, a compendium of writings by the classical saxophone pioneer, Sigurd M. Raschèr. Compiled and edited by Dr. Lee Patrick, the book contains writings by Raschèr spanning seven decades. The Raschèr Reader presents topics such as saxophone pedagogy, the history of instruments, interpretation, teaching, and the essence of music. Articles from various music publications such as The Instrumentalist, Woodwind World, Etude Magazine, and The Saxophone Symposium are included. Also contained in the Reader are letters and typescripts from Raschèr’s private collection which are published here for the first time. This is a truly fascinating compilation of writings not limited to the saxophone and music, but also including ideas on education, farming and nuclear energy, among other topics. In addition, there are press materials and articles written about Raschèr by other writers. The Reader also contains many photos, some published for the first time.
The Raschèr Reader is available in linen hard cover with foil imprinting. This book is an invaluable resource for every saxophonist and music library. It is also sure to be of great interest to many others for its many universal ideas expressed by an artist with tremendous clarity of thought, humor and wisdom. ORDER YOUR COPY BELOW!.
