This study abroad program to Hong Kong is designed for students interested in international social work and service learning. This course involves three on-campus meetings before departing and a ten day study abroad program to Hong Kong from July 19 - 30, 2017, and is based on experiential education as a model for teaching and learning. This program will offer students a global perspective and understanding of social problems, practice approaches and policies in other countries, with a specific focus on Hong Kong through site visits at different government and non-governmental social service agencies and organizations.
In order to register for an Oakland University Study Abroad Program, students must obtain the permission of the instructor/faculty leader. Students must enroll in SW395 - International Social Work & Service Learning, and therefore, be receiving academic credit.
The first installment is refundable until March 15, 2017. After March 15, 2017 the Hong Kong 2017 trip is nonrefundable.
