Wilderness Navigation Using GPS Receiver - Tuesday/Thursday, May 12, 14 from 4:30-7:30 pm (CMU Tech) and Saturday, May 16 from 10 am-1:00 pm (Field Study)

Learn how to effectively use a GPS receiver for accurate navigation, even in low-visibility conditions. This course covers the strengths and limitations of GPS devices, as well as how to recognize and compensate for errors. You’ll also review essential map and compass skills, which remain crucial for reliable navigation. The class concludes with a hands-on field exercise.
