dGuided by Braden Shafer, DVM, with the help of second-year
veterinary technology students, this class introduces students to the field of veterinary technology, covering the essential roles of veterinary technicians in animal care. Students will learn about animal anatomy, basic medical procedures, and diagnostic skills, along with hands-on training in tasks like taking vital signs and assisting with surgeries. The course also covers communication with pet owners, ethical responsibilities, and common animal health issues. Each student will receive a stethoscope to take home. Students must be high school age!
