Semester MBTA Passes are now on sale! What is the student discounted MBTA Pass? The MBTA offers an 11% discounted semesterly student pass to Emerson College students. Off-Campus Student Services helps to coordinate ordering to ensure you can receive the discount should you choose to utilize it! This pass is completely optional. The discount is automatically factored into the purchase price on the website. No additional discount code is required. Who should consider purchasing this pass? Students who live off-campus or expect to regularly commute to a job, internship, or otherwise via the MBTA subway or commuter rail will benefit from the pass. This pass is completely optional. When is the pass valid for use? All passes purchased for the Fall semester will be active from September 1 through December 31. All passes purchased for the Spring semester will be active from January through April 30. *please note passes will not be available for pick up until the week prior to classes starting* How do I know which pass to choose? To determine which MBTA pass would be the best one for you, use the MBTA trip planner to map your route for commuting. Does a Commuter Rail pass include the subway/T? Yes, a monthly Commuter Rail pass printed on a CharlieTicket is valid for travel on the MBTA subway. When can I pick up my pass? After purchasing an MBTA pass, you will receive an email at least one week prior to the start of the semester with additional information on where to pick up your MBTA pass. All passes must be picked up on the Boston campus during pick-up times and we cannot ship any MBTA pass. What is the difference between a Link Pass and Zone Passes? Each pass offers access to different MBTA lines and stops. The "Link" Pass is the most popular, giving access to all subway lines such as the Blue, Orange, Green, Red, and Silver Line. Please note that if you purchase a commuter rail pass (any zone or ferry), you will have to pick up a new pass monthly through off-campus student services. Zone and Ferry Passes cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. What is I lose my pass or it's stolen? Zone and Ferry Passes cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Link passes may be replaced within 3-7 business days. Email OCSS@emerson.edu as soon as you no longer have access to the card. Once a new pass is requested the replacement process cannot be haulted.
