Could one flat tire or another unexpected expense ruin everything? For many community college students, the answer is yes. Often, when money is tight, higher education is the first thing to go, and all it takes is one setback or emergency to make their dreams feel out of reach. Many EPCC students are the first in their families to go to college, and many are student parents. Even though most students work trying to pay for their higher education and support themselves as well as their families, an unexpected expense can be devastating.
That is why Dr. Diane and Mr. Daryl E. Troyer established the EPCC Foundation StayStrong Emergency Assistance Endowment. This new endowment will help ensure that small dollars are available to students facing unexpected emergencies which can help make a big impact in the life of a student trying to complete their degree.
