This comprehensive 3-hour CEU presentation equips mental health professionals with the critical knowledge required to ethically navigate the digital age, covering the latest legislative boundaries, clinical approaches for addressing client use of AI companions, and rigorous HIPAA compliance and vendor vetting strategies.
Learning Objectives:
» Participants will be able to identify key prohibitions and consent requirements outlined in recent state legislation (e.g., the IL WOPR Act) regarding the use of AI in therapy.
» Participants will develop clinical strategies to safely assess, explore, and intervene when clients utilize AI companions or chatbots for mental health support.
» Participants will be able to critically vet AI vendor agreements for HIPAA compliance, specifically identifying data-retention risks and BAA necessities.
