Situations of conflict inevitably bring up emotional responses, which can make it hard for leaders to respond in Christlike ways. In this session, we will explore how emotions can impact our behavior in conflict. We will unpack research on shame’s connection to self-centered behavior and guilt’s connection to other-centered behavior. But we will also provide key takeaways to help church leaders recognize these emotions in themselves and in those they are serving, and to be able to respond appropriately.
