Serving and ministering as the spouse of a church leader can carry a number of joys and challenges. Some of the realities explored in this session include the importance of realistic expectations of yourself and others; how to handle anxious, difficult and critical people; friendships; the important boundaries of leadership; and self-care. As Howard Thurman once said, “Well-doing devoid of proper self-care is, at best doing well poorly. Exemplary care of others is rooted in vigilant self-care.”
