Dana Pemberton -- An Unwelcoming Welcome? Moving Children out of the Margins and Into the Midst

Jesus called for his disciples to extend welcome to people on the margins, including children. This session will raise questions about contemporary perspectives that inform our children’s ministries. We will explore what our practices communicate to and about children and ask how church leaders—elders and the full ministerial staff—might challenge and equip the full faith community to live out its call to welcome the little ones. This is a session primarily for elders and other ministry leaders—not just children’s ministers.
