Problem solving is a critical mathematical behavior, but many students remain stuck on
procedures and repetition rather than creative and critical thinking. In this session, teachers will
learn strategies to support their students’ engagement in productive mathematical problem
solving within the standards that we teach every day. Professional learning will include how
noticing and wondering can open up mathematical problems, using mathematical
representations to problem solve, and more strategies that can be used in PK‐8 mathematics
lessons to spark student thinking! (Connections to: Mathematical Action and Process 3)

*A minimum of 15 registrants required for each session. You will be notified if this session does
