This is a two-day workshop that introduces students to the basics of lighting a scene for a traditional narrative film production.


Students will learn how to:
  • use gear found on professional sets, including a variety of lights, stands, and light modifiers as well as
  • basic techniques used to achieve looks frequently utilized during the course of a film production.
The workshop will be taught by veteran filmmakers using a blend of lecture and hands-on exercises in a professional lighting studio.

This two-day workshop will be held from 10am - 5pm on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday May 5,2024 in person at Good Name Co, 6838 E. 44th St, Tulsa, OK  74145.
Featuring Instructors:  Jake Basnett and Josh Morris
Jake Basnett is an IATSE Gaffer and Key Grip with a decade of experience.

His recent narrative credits include Reservation Dogs, Fancy Dance, Stranger Things and Killers of The Flower Moon.

He has worked commercially with Apple, Nike, Samsung, Google, and Meta. His Music Video credits span from Iggy Azalea, The Chainsmokers, and Hobo Johnson to Blake Shelton, Every Time I Die and Luke Combs. He is based out of Claremore, Oklahoma.
 
Josh Morris is a highly competent professional filmmaker with 13 years of industry experience.

He is also the founder and operator of Good Name Co., a Tulsa-based video production company, rental house, and studio space that caters to local and national productions.
