OSU Writing Project: Teaching Grammar in-Context

TEACHING GRAMMAR IN-CONTEXT: HOW TO RETHINK PUNCTUATION, LANGUAGE USAGE, AND STYLE: Our summer workshops are open to all English language arts teachers and are held VIA ZOOM through the Oklahoma State University’s Writing Project. Presented by Sarah J. Donovan, Ph.D., a former junior high language arts teacher of fifteen years. Dr. Donavon is an Assistant Professor of Secondary English Education at OSU where she teaches English teacher candidates. Learn research about grammar instruction. Learn and practice the mini-lesson protocol that teachers and students can use during the writing process; and learn ways to assess and grade grammar that teaches students to understand the impact of grammar, mechanics, and usage on their writing.
