Borrowed Forms (All levels—Prose)

Borrowed Forms (All levels—Prose)
The 6 week workshop will be Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. February 7, 2019 - March 14, 2019 in Main Hall 2440.

In this workshop, you will practice using existing forms to act as a container for your writing—I.E. a mortgage payoff letter turned into a personal essay about purchasing a home, or an orthodontic report turned into an examination of childhood and social ideas of beauty. We will consider what content various forms suggest and look at many examples. This will be a craft and generative workshop with writing prompts. Don’t do any work ahead of time, but do bring a form (or several!) that is personal to you—perhaps a bank statement, resume, note, prescription, birth certificate, field guide, horoscope, etc. (There are no “wrong” forms.)
