For the 2018-2019 Academic Year, it is no longer possible to join the WSU Chapter of the National Association for Music Education. You may still join NAfME at the following link: https://nafme.org, but the Department of Performing Arts will not be able to assist you with lodging or meals at the Utah Music Educators Association Professional Conference in St. George, February 1 & 2, 2019. Check back in Sept of 2019 to join the Weber State Chapter of the NAfME.

When you join NAfME, you also join the Utah Music Educators Association (UMEA) and the WSU Student Chapter #275. Every year in February our chapter participates in the Utah Music Educators Association’s Professional Conference. This is an opportunity for music students to participate in a professional music education conference and meet teachers that work throughout the state of Utah. There are also national clinicians that offer workshops for in-service teachers as well as special events for university students. The WSU School of Music feels it is very important for music education students to participate in this conference, so the department subsidizes the cost. By joining NAfME, WSU students have the opportunity to participate in a professional conference at a highly reduced rate.
