Available in two different formats for displaying phonetic symbols: 1) IPA - The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), a system of phonetic notation devised by the International Phonetic Association as a standardized representation of the sounds of spoken language; frequently used by linguists, speech pathologists, and other professionals who transcribe speech. 2) non-IPA - Symbols for each speech sound are represented by common English spellings; for users unfamiliar with IPA.
