STEM Saturdays

STEM Saturdays will be introduced this Spring 2020 by the Office of Continuing Education as part of our personal enrichment series at TAMIU. It will be led by Alexander High School teachers Mercedes Oronoz and Ricky Ramos. Ms. Oronoz and Mr. Ramos will guide these young 6th & 7th Grade STEM enthusiasts thru hands-on, problem-based learning while re-enforcing core concepts.

Students will be engaged in creative and collaborative hands-on learning projects while learning new STEM concepts such as Algebra basics, AutoCAD and coding. Students will not only learn collaborative skills needed in STEM fields but will also discover the components of research projects as well as making formal presentations on a subject. Other projects will include solving real world geometry problems, physics experiments and discovering how technology is an essential tool today in advancing the STEM field.
