Sharon Winters-Bounds - Rose Of Sharon

Sharon Winters-Bounds - Rose Of Sharon

Rose of Sharon, originally released in 1979, is an incredible display of the then 14-year-old, Sharon Winter’s phenomenal fiddling. At the time of this recording, Sharon had only been playing fiddle for 3 years. Though a newcomer to the instrument, Sharon grew up in a very musical household and her father and grandfather, also fine fiddlers, provided inspiration to her. Sharon began her career during the golden years of contest fiddling. She was influenced by legendary musicians, such as J.T. Perkins, Roy Crawford, and Jim Brock as well as by the young, rising stars of the day like Mark O’Connor and Ken Smith. Now Sharon Winters-Bounds, she is still performing around the Tuscaloosa, AL area with her band. The twelve iconic tracks on this album, carefully remastered by Spring Fed Records, are classic contest tunes played to perfection and bound to excite and inspire fiddle fans everywhere!
